A motorcyclist has died after he slammed into the side of the mountain on State Route 78, sending him sliding across the highway and falling off the road.
According to San Diego Police officer Dino Delimitros, the accident happened just before 4:00 p.m. on Sunday in the 18000 block of San Pasqual Road.
Delimitros stated that "a 60-year-old man on a motorcycle lost control, hit the side of a mountain and bounced off of it, then went across lanes of traffic ending up on the other side of the road in a field of cactus…He died on the scene."
A SigAlert was issued for about 2 hours as a result of the accident.
With details as minimal as those provided it's difficult to understand what went wrong to cause this accident.
