A couple was seriously injured in a crash that took place on State Route 67 in Lakeside last Saturday.
The incident occurred just before 2:30 pm near West Foster Truck Trail. The SR-67 was shut as a result of the crash while emergency responders tended to the victims and investigators collected evidence.
The victims were flown by helicopter to the hospital and within two hours the roadway was again open to traffic.
A fundraising page setup by loved ones states that the man involved in the incident remains on full life support and is paralyzed from the neck down. Additionally the page states that the woman has successfully undergone surgery for her injuries. So far the fundraising page has reached $39,000 in donations towards the goal of $100,000.
There is to be a Fundraiser barbeque and ride on April 12th to raise more for the effort, details for which are available on the page linked above.
Anyone who has ridden two-up on a bike will likely have had deep thoughts about the possible implications of a motorcycle crash. No one wants to be at the handlebars during an accident that badly injures or kills a loved one, and for this our thoughts go out to the victims who are truly living a motorcycle rider's nightmare. It's encouraging to hear that both are holding on, and their recovery is in our thoughts.
The San Bernardino motorcycle lawyers here at RiderzLaw offer both our condolences and praises to the supportive family and friends of the victims, and beg our readers to please stay safe out on the roads.
