A rider has been killed following a high speed pursuit with the California Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred early Friday morning around 4 am. According to Lt. Fred Lopez of the Orange Police Department, they terminated a chase with the motorcyclist on the 55 freeway before the crash took place.
Shortly after, it appears the rider exited the freeway onto Katella Avenue, but around Batavia Street collided with a median.
Responding Orange Fire Paramedics found that the rider had been ejected from his motorcycle. No other vehicles are believed to have been involved.
The unidentified rider was pronounced dead on-scene.
Investigators are asking that anyone who may have witnessed the incident contact them at (714)744-7444.
Often in situations like these official sources will allow blame to fall upon the victim in the incident. The unfortunate truth is that if ever there is a motorcyclist involved, they will be the victim.
The Orange County motorcycle lawyers here at RiderzLaw offer our deepest, most sincere condolences to the family and friends of the victim. We urge all our readers to ride safely at all times and look out for yourselves out on the streets.
