A rider was killed on Wednesday when he collided into several objects, one of them a shopping center sign.
The rider has been identified as 29-year-old Brandon Wenn. He was riding his 750 cc Suzuki (model unknown) north on Goldenwest around 2:30 am near Yorktown Avenue.
It is unknown what caused the Wenn to collide with the objects, or if alcohol was a factor. Police report that speed however does not appear to have been a contributing factor in the incident. This was following interviews with two witnesses whom were interviewed on-scene.
The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact:
Huntington Beach Police Accident Investigator Tai Huynh at 7114-536-5670, Accident Investigator Bob Barr at 714-536-5666 or during off-hours to call 714-960-8825.
With hazy details and speculation, it’s difficult to determine the cause for this accident. In truth the possibilities are numerous. Maybe the rider saw or thought he saw an object in the road that he attempted to avoid. Possibly a patch of moisture caused his bike to change direction suddenly. Of course we also couldn’t rule out the possibility of intoxication, but that will more simply be brought to light during the investigation. Whatever the cause was, this is a terribly sad story to read about. The Orange County motorcycle lawyers here at RiderzLaw offer the family and friends of Mr. Wenn our deepest condolences, and urge all our readers to be careful out on the roadways.
