Mulholland Dr (The Rock Store)
Arguably the most well-known place to ride in the west coast is the “snake” … you see thousands of videos on YouTube of riders ripping through that canyon dragging knee and others even dragging elbow. Of course, the most famous video is of the riders who ride above their limit and crash their bike… this is a ride I wouldn’t recommend for the beginners because of its tight fast turns and quick change of directions.
Angeles Crest Highway (Newcomb’s)
ACH is one of the longer rides, definitely a “go-to” place for motorcycles. If you decide to travel up ACH on a Sunday Morning you will surly meet up with hundreds of other motorcycle riders sharing the same passion as you. Once at the top of ACH you’ll come across a restaurant named Newcomb’s Ranch. This place it the meet up spot for all kinds of motorsports enthusiast.
Neptune’s Net
A very famous location well known for its seafood, it has appeared in a handful of very well-known movies. One thing these movies do not show is the awesome scenery of both the Malibu mountains and the gorgeous oceanic sunset. This is a place to enjoy both the ride and the destination. It’s a fairly easy ride just up the coast on PCH pretty much anyone with a Motorcycle license can enjoy.
Mt Baldy
Mt Baldy is a pretty short canyon in my opinion it is a moderate ride that does test some of your skills but nothing too difficult for your new rider. This ride has some great turn outs to take pictures and enjoy the view. Of course, be careful riding up during summer as you will encounter some snow on the road because of the elevation.
Azusa / Glendora Mountain Road
GMR is a very fun canyon to ride up and down. Like most of the canyons on this list you’ll find plenty of other riders enjoying the mountain. This canyon is definitely not for beginners, its a tight road with plenty of fast turns with lots of hairpins mixed in with long sweeping turns.
