Protect All Surface Cleaner Review
By Tayla Adams
A few weeks ago I was in the shop getting my bike serviced, and I noticed my mechanic wiping my bike down with a spray after the work was done. I asked about the product, and he pretty much told me that he highly recommended the item for basic cleaning. I bought the Protect All Surface Cleaner to try it out the same day.
To make sure I could do a thorough review of this product I allowed my bike to get pretty dirty. Even though getting caught in the rain was really annoying and may have caused me to get sick, it also got my bike pretty dirty. So, I think I had about six to eight weeks of build up on the bike before I cleaned it.
The product sprays out in a concentrated stream. I started out spraying directly onto the bike, but after a few off-target sprays, I began to spray the towel I was using to clean so I wouldn’t spray something I couldn’t quite reach. For the most part, I found this product pretty good. I recommend people use a shammy or a quick dry towel to avoid any lint residue left behind. I also suggest wiping in circular motions to avoid leaving streaks.
In the past I damaged the finishing on my gas tank because I used a wax product that was too harsh. So, that’s never going to be changed, but I can do my best make sure I don’t do any more damage moving forward. I think Protect All works really well for weekly upkeep. If you allow your bike to go months without being cleaned, this product will not be as effective. Grime and build up are harder to get rid of, and require a heavy duty cleaner. I also still need to figure out how to clean my wind guard because the residue did not come off there.
However, this product is great for providing shine and a clean looking finished result. As you can see from the photos above, the Protect All definitely left my bike looking much better than it did at the start. So, I highly recommend this product for weekly or bi-weekly upkeep cleaning.
Stay safe in these streets!
