IRVINE MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT LAWYER REPORT: The motorcycle accident attorneys at Riderz Law have a tragic accident to report from Irvine. On Sunday, January 27, 2018 a motorcyclist was killed when the driver of a classic Pontiac Firebird lost control of his vehicle and veered into the path of the rider. As the driver was entering the northbound i-5 freeway at Culver Drive, he struck a curb at the merging point and lost control of the vehicle. CHP stated that speed appeared to be a factor. The out of control vehicle crossed in front of the 1997 Triumph motorcycle and its 48-year-old rider struck the car. A 2016 Mazda CX5 then crashed into both vehicles. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the local hospital. The name of the rider has not been released.
Police are still investigating the crash, and have not stated whether alcohol was a contributing factor. Regardless, this is an accident that never should have happened. Whether it was alcohol, carelessness, or a lack of concern for others, this motorcycle accident was 100% preventable.
