For years I’ve noticed bikers utilizing GoPros and other types of action cameras. They usually mount them to their helmets or bikes. As with most new technology to hit the market, the price for one of these cameras used to be quite expensive. I’m talking upwards of three hundred dollars, and that always stopped me from purchasing one. However, over time the price has declined and the market for action cameras has become more competitive.
This all leads me to my good fortune of purchasing an action camera during the Amazon Prime Day sale. The camera I bought was not a GoPro, but it was competitive and had good reviews online. It was also only forty dollars and came with a bag full of accessories. Add the extra ten-dollar off coupon I had, I stole this item for thirty dollars.

The name of the camera I bought is the WiMiUS. It shoots 4K, attaches to helmets, comes with under water capabilities, LCD screen, a waterproof case, dual rechargeable batteries, and a small kit of more accessories. I’m a very active individual, so this package suits my needs. Also, given how far I travel, the busy streets, and how horrible the drivers can be in LA, I think this is a good investment. Another bonus is this camera takes high quality photos. Now, I’ll be able to capture better pictures on my rides to share with this community.
You might be thinking, why did I buy the action camera? What changed to make me want one after having gone without for so long? It comes down to accountability. I’ve been riding for almost six years now, and I’ve seen a number of crazy things happen on the road. I’ve heard horror stories about hit and runs against motorcyclists for years. I want to be proactive in my safety, and I want a record in case anything happens.
The camera arrived earlier this morning, and I can’t wait to do a thorough review on its functionality after a few uses.
