Welcome back all, below we’ll get into where Dominic and his friends hang out when he goes on rides, and he’ll also share some of his riding fails as well.

T: Do you ever get intimidated when you’re up at the snake with the amount of riders who are out there?

D: No, I don’t get intimidated. I just find it inspirational. Like it’s only up from here. They’re not there to put you down. They give you advice, it’s pretty awesome.

 

T: Do you go up to The Rock Store?

D: No, I’ve never been to the bar, but there’s this other place in Malibu. It’s a seafood place called Neptunes Net. Everyone should go, there’s such a beautiful view. A lot of bikers go there, it’s kind of expensive because of the seafood, but it’s so amazing. That’s where I go hang out.

T: Have you considered joining a bike club?

D: I did, but because I’m in the valley I decided to wait. When I graduate I’ll probably go back to Compton and join one there.

T: Have you had any close encounters or scary moments?

D: I had like three. I just fell the other day.

T: Really? What happened?

D: I’ll tell you the first two. The first one I was just learning, thought I was in the Moto GP, my confidence far outweighed my skills. I was on the 405 going to get a hair cut. It was horrible traffic. So, I was lane splitting in one of the middle lanes trying to get back into the carpool lane. I didn’t make it so I clipped a car and got her tail light. I was just like ‘oh man, I can’t believe I did that’. The woman was cool about it, so thankfully it wasn’t a huge deal for her.

T: Was your bike okay?

D: No, and I hurt my knee because the bike dropped on my leg when I went down.

T: How fast was traffic going?

D: They were pretty  much just sitting still. They weren’t moving, so I felt stupid.

T: They weren’t moving?

D: This was the first week of me riding, and a lesson I learned right off the bat.

D: Then the other time was last week. There was some slippery concrete  as I turned into the parking lot, and I didn’t notice it, so I fell. I just fixed the bike recently. So, now I’m back. You just have to be cautious, as there are unknowns everywhere, and I just wasn’t being cautious enough.
