RED BLUFF MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT LAWYER REPORT: The motorcycle accident attorneys at Riderz Law have a tragic accident to report from Red Bluff. On Sunday, October 23, 2017 two riders were tragically killed when the driver of a pickup truck ran a stop sign and struck the crossing motorcycle. A 43-year-old man was riding a 2009 Harley-Davidson with a 59-year-old woman as a passenger on the bike, when he entered the intersection of Watkins Road and Malton Switch Road north of Orland, CA. Kalen Souza was driving a 1988 Toyota pickup when he entered the intersection at approximately 50mph, making no attempts to brake or stop for the stop sign in his direction. He collided with the bike, and both riders died as a result of their injuries.
Police are still investigating the crash, but do not believe that alcohol or drugs were a contributing factor. Regardless, this is an accident that never should have happened. Whether it was reckless driving, carelessness, or blatant disregard for others, this motorcycle accident was 100% preventable.
