Two riders lost their lives in a tragic head on collision over the weekend.
The incident took place on the Ortega Highway/SR-74 at approximately 10:25 a.m.
The riders have been identified as 24-year-old Gilbert Banuelos and 27-year-old Andre Dang.
Banuelos was traveling eastbound on his Yamaha at a “high rate” of speed, when he lost control and traveled into the westbound lanes.
Dang was traveling westbound at the time, and the two motorcycles struck each other head on.
Both riders died from their injuries before 11 a.m.
It’s said that there were no other vehicles involved, and police have not stated whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the incident.
Going on a weekend ride can be one of the most enjoyable experiences of being a rider.
