A young man was killed last Wednesday in a motorcycle accident that occurred in Long Beach.
The incident took place at approximately 7:50 a.m., at the 3400 block of Lakewood Blvd.
The rider has not been identified, but is reported as being a 27-year-old man from South Gate.
The semi was stopped on Lakewood waiting to execute a turn when the motorcycle moved into the lane where the semi was stopped and struck the waiting semi truck.
According to officials he was declared dead on-scene.
Police have not stated whether drugs or alcohol were a factor, however, it appears that excessive speed may have contributed. The incident remains under investigation.
