Orange County Motorcycle Accident Attorney Report: The lawyers at Riderz Law have learned of a motorcycle accident that occurred last week on Pacific Coast Highway, just north of Laguna Beach.
California Highway Patrol reports that a man on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle was riding southbound on PCH when he rear-ended a car that had stopped suddenly due to traffic. The man suffered significant injuries and was hospitalized. Further details, including the rider’s current condition, are unknown. We will update this story as more information is disclosed. Our best wishes go out to his fallen rider for a speedy recovery.
As a motorcycle accident attorney in Orange County, I see a lot of accidents take place on PCH – many of which are in the Newport / Laguna area. The traffic moves very fast, and drivers are often distracted by the many sights and sounds along this beautiful stretch of ocean-front roadway. It is often a recipe for disaster. As a motorcyclist myself, I try to avoid riding this area of PCH wherever possible. Don’t get me wrong – I love this area of OC – but I have seen enough accidents to make me think twice about riding there. While the motorcycle accident in this case appears to have been due to rider error, in most instances accidents are caused by carless drivers who are too busy joy riding, texting, fiddling with their makeup, etc., to pay attention to the road. No matter how careful a rider is, there is simply no way to always evade a negligent driver. The best thing to do is try to minimize riding in areas that are prone to accidents. As always, ride smart and ride safe.
