LOS ANGELES: The Los Angeles motorcycle accident attorneys at Riderz Law have an unfortunate motorcycle accident to report that occurred in the San Fernando Valley. During last week’s annual Love Ride, a charity motorcycle run to help find a cure for autism, two separate accidents occurred, causing two fatalities and injuring at least two other people.
According to California Highway Patrol, the first accident occurred around 10:30 a.m. on the Golden State Freeway near the valley, while the second one occurred a half an hour later — likely due to the traffic jam caused by the first accident. The exact cause of the motorcycle accidents is currently unknown.
Fatal motorcycle accidents are always tragic, but this pair of accidents is doubly so given the circumstances. These riders were out doing what they loved and supporting a great cause, only to lose their lives. Our thoughts and prayers are with the fallen riders and their families.
The motorcycle lawyers here at Riderz Law are frequent participants in charity runs, both local and state-wide. Charity runs – particularly ones with large groups of bikers on busy highways full of knucklehead car drivers, can be dangerous. When riding in large events, you don’t always know the people riding nearby, and don’t know their skill level or tendencies. As such, one must be doubly aware of one’s surroundings and be looking ahead for potential danger. As always, we urge our clients and readers to ride smart and ride safe.
