LAKE FOREST – Our Orange County motorcycle accident lawyer has a tragic motorcycle crash to report from earlier this week. Last Sunday, Donn Lavine, 58, of Anaheim Hills, was riding his 2000 Harley Davidson near Lake Forest on a curvy section of Santiago Canyon Road when, for reasons unknown, he veered off the roadway and down the embankment, crashing into some trees. California Highway Patrol are still investigating the cause of the accident. Both Mr. Lavine and an unidentified female passenger were killed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Lavine and his passenger.
This is the second major accident this year on Santiago Canyon Road. In early July, a 17 year old Lake Forest man lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a telephone pole on this same stretch of roadway. Curvy stretches of road such as the Santiago Canyon stretch may be fun to ride, but motorcyclists must always be careful and ride within their skill level. All too often, the motorcycle accident attorneys at Riderz Law see tragic accidents that could easily have been prevented. As always, we urge our clients and readers to stay safe and ride responsibly.
