ANAHEIM: The Orange County motorcycle accident lawyers at Riderz Law have another unfortunate accident to report. Last week, a 31 year-old motorcyclist was killed when his bike crashed on the eastbound 91 freeway, near the Imperial Highway. According to California Highway Patrol, the rider collided with the rear of a BMW, flipped, and was thrown into the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes. The rider suffered severe injuries, which ultimately proved fatal. Our thoughts and prayers are with this slain rider and his family.
It is unclear why the rider rear-ended the BMW (e.g., riding too close, sudden stop, etc.) but this accident underscores the necessity of extreme precaution and defensive driving while on a motorcycle. As motorcycle accident attorneys, we see many accidents caused by careless drivers; but we also see many accidents that could have been avoided with proper defensive riding. It only takes a split second lapse in concentation for an accident to occur. Unfortunately, an accident that might only result in a fender bender in a car can be fatal on a motorcycle. Ride smart and ride safe.
