A week or two ago, we posted a blog about AGV’s “Trade in your Helmet” promotion. We were enthusiastic about it. It sounded like a good promotion, and a chance to get a little something for nothing. Well, we checked it out, and nothing is exactly what we got.
According to the AGV website, “From May 1st to June 15th 2011 you can . . . trade in your old helmet and receive a 20% discount on your new AGV helmet.”
The website goes on to say that the promotion is available online:
To participate to the promotion through www.agv.com, please send a picture of your old helmet you want to trade in to firstname.lastname@example.org and you will get a 20% promotional code to use for your online purchase at www.agv.com.
So that’s what I did. I sent an email to the address given, with a picture of my old helmet. Here is the response I got:
How may I help you?
I was a little annoyed, but I replied anyway, explaining that I wanted the promotion code for the “20% off a new helmet.” I received no further reply.
It seems to me that perhaps someone at the AGV promotional department needs to tell the rest of the folks there that they have a promotion going. I’m half tempted to go a distributor to find out if they will honor the advertisement. Or maybe I’ll just buy a Fulmer or Shoei.
