REDLANDS – A 31-year-old man died from a motorcycle accident that occurred last Saturday on the 10 Freeway near the Ford Street overpass. According to San Bernardino authorities, the man was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle at a high rate of speed at approximately 2:45 a.m. when he struck the back of a Honda Civic. The collision ejected the rider from his motorcycle, whereupon he was struck by several other vehicles traveling east-bound on the freeway. He was killed almost immediately. There were no other injuries. Our prayers are with this rider and his family.
The investigation of this accident is not complete, so we won’t speculate as to the cause. But if the initial reports are true, it appears that this is yet another motorcycle accident that was entirely preventable. Motorcyclists simply don’t have the liberty to lose focus or drive recklessly, as they don’t have the same margin of error as people in cars, and the consequences of a crash are often horrific. Unfortunately, the motorcycle accident lawyers here at Riderz Law see these tragedies play out every day. Ride smart and ride safe.
