A New York City/Brooklyn pop artist who had recently moved to Los Angeles was killed while riding his motorcycle earlier this month.
The artist, 29-year-old Mikey Hodges AKA Pop Zeus was riding his motorcycle on Broadway when a 78-year-old woman turned into his path. Hodges was unable to avoid collision.
The incident occurred on Thursday, December 18th just before 3:00 pm. The woman, who apparently didn't see Hodges, was attempting to turn onto Cesar Chavez Avenue.
It is reported that Hodges was ejected from his bike and thrown to the street. He later died after being transported to the hospital.
Sgt. S. Bailey of the LAPD reports that the woman stayed at the scene and cooperated with police. She was neither cited nor arrested, though the investigation is ongoing.
Earlier this year, Pop Zeus released the EP Tell Me So. He was very well known in the NYC pop music scene.
The tragic and sudden loss of Mikey Hodges seems to have left a deep hole in the hearts of many. The industry insiders reporting on this incident along with his friends and acquaintances alike all have nothing but positive things to say about him.
The truth is that the accident which took his life is the same which causes the majority of motorcycle injuries and deaths.
The Los Angeles motorcycle lawyers here at RiderzLaw offer our most sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mikey Hodges.
We beg you readers – if you're a rider then watch out for yourself at all times. If you're a driver, then please keep an eye out for the motorcycles your'e sharing the road with.
