A male motorcycle rider was killed at the intersection of Fernandez Drive and Ragland road when he lost control of his bike and crashed.

The Raleigh County Sheriff's office named 26 year-old Jerry Walon of Ghent as the victim of the incident.

Cited as contributing to Walon's death was his lack of helmet and having been speeding at the time.

The were no other vehicles reported to have been involved in the accident.
