A Fremont motorcyclist was killed in a HWY-101 motorcycle crash in Mountain View yesterday morning.

The incident occurred just before 9 am and resulted in the closure of three northbound lanes. The 24-year-old rider was killed when his motorcycle collided with a dump truck just north of Ellis Street.

The unidentified young man was on a 2009 Suzuki, and was pronounced dead on-scene.

Lanes remained shut until around 11:30 am. The dump truck driver, who was uninjured, is said to have been cooperative during the investigation.

Reports made no mention of charges being pressed against the truck driver.

We have all been surprised by the haste in which the enormous, lumbering vehicles on our roads decide and execute maneuvers. It is all too often that riders aren’t able to avoid disaster. We don’t know the details of this particular incident, but it is a reminder of dangers which always surround us as riders.

The Bay Area motorcycle lawyers here at RiderzLaw offer our deepest, most sincere condolences to the family and friends of this downed rider. We beg all our readers, whether you ride motorcycles or not, to be safe and look out for others on the roadways.
