A motorcycle rider ran into a trolley last Saturday night while allegedly evading police.

The incident occurred around 5 p.m. in Santee. The San Diego Sheriff’s Department stated that while attempting to stop the motorcycle for a traffic violation, the rider sped off.

Within a matter of seconds, the rider crashed into a Green Line trolley at the intersection of Mission Gorge Road and Cuyamaca Street.

News sources say the rider does not have any life-threatening injuries.

Apparently the Metropolitan Transit System was shuttling passengers between Gillepsie and Santee to bypass the line affected by the crash.

Of course as responsible riders we never encourage evasion of police. Sometimes it’s an easy thought that we can outrun any 4-wheeled vehicle on the road, but clearly that isn’t universally the case. Additionally, such conduct reflects poorly on the riding community as a whole. With that said, we stand by our fellow riders, and for this reason the San Diego motorcycle lawyers here at RiderzLaw wish a speedy recovery to the down rider, and encourage all our readers to be safe out on the roads.
