A young man was killed last Sunday in a motorcycle accident that occurred in Borrego Springs, San Diego.

The incident took place around mile marker 13.5 on Montezuma Rd around 12:40 pm.

The rider has been identified as 27-year-old Oceanside resident Shane Sluss.

The motorcycle failed to complete a turn and veered off the road, at which point Sluss went into an embankment and was ejected from his bike.

Friends of Sluss were on-scene during the incident and attempted to perform CPR. According to officials he remained unresponsive, and was declared dead on-scene.

It’s said that there were no other vehicles involved, and it was determined that neither drugs nor alcohol were a factor in the incident, which remains under investigation.

Going on a weekend ride with friends can be one of the most enjoyable experiences of being a rider.
