Couple injured in Santiago Canyon, Orange County motorcycle crash

LAKE FOREST – The OC Register reports that two were injured in a motorcycle accident on Santiago Canyon Road.

The incident occurred last Friday morning at the intersection of Santiago Canyon Road and Falcon Street when their bike collided with a pickup.

According to Captain Steve Concialdi of the Orange County Fire Authority, the woman on the motorcycle suffered critical head and leg injuries, while the male rider is said to have suffered moderate injuries. Emergency responders on-scene took the both to the hospital for treatment.

Lt. Steve Gil of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department says that the incident was reported just after 10:30 am.

Santiago Canyon Road tends to have an abnormally high incidence per capita of motorcycle crashes. This is to be expected however, given that there are a greater number of motorcycles per capita relative to other areas of Orange County. Many would think that this would lead drivers to navigate the canyon with more care or at the very least keep an eye out for riders. Unfortunately, it is still very common for drivers to cut-off motorcyclist leading to injury and occasionally death.

The Orange County motorcycle lawyers wish a speedy recovery to the injured riders in this accident, and urge all our readers to look out for themselves out on the roadways.
