A Los Angeles man was killed after falling into the LA River late last month.

The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Damien Phillips of Los Angeles. Authorities say that he was riding westbound on the 91 freeway when he struck a guardrail and was ejected down into the river.

Authorities with the California Highway Patrol say that the incident occurred near Atlantic Avenue just before 10:30 pm. Phillips was riding his 2006 Yamaha when he contacted the freeway's right guardrail.

Long Beach fire paramedics found him in the riverbed below, pronouncing him dead just after 11:00 pm.

Tragedies such as these are some of the most troubling for the riding community, leaving behind nothing but questions as to the cause, and grief over the effect.

It may never be completely clear what caused Damien Phillips to collide with the guardrail. The Los Angeles motorcycle lawyers here at RiderzLaw offer our deepest and most sincere condolences to the family and friends of Damien.

We beg you readers to please, be safe and look out for yourselves on the roadways.
