According to official reports, a Montebello man was killed when his motorcycle struck a light pole at high speed late Thursday night.

The man was identified as 22-year-old Nicholas Andrew Hovermale of Montebello by Los Angeles County Department of Coroner Assistant Chief of Operations Ed Winter.

Montebello police Lt. Mike Flores said the incident occurred shortly after 10:30 pm when Hovermale "…appeared to have lost control and collided with a light pole,"

He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, and the investigation remains ongoing.
