Biker Spotlight: Tommy Bencharit & Cycle Depot

This month, instead of just putting the spotlight on a biker, we asked a few questions to a local shop owner who has been taking care of motorcyclists in the Los Angeles area for more than a decade.
 
Tommy Bencharit runs Cycle Depot, a locally-owned motorcycle shop in the Eagle Rock neighborhood of Los Angles, California.  Located on Colorado Boulevard, the shop is conveniently situated between Glendale and Pasadena, just a short ride from downtown LA.  It's a great shop for parts and service.


We asked the owner, Tommy, to tell us a little more about his shop and here's what we found out:

How long have you been in business?
13 years

What does your shop specialize in?
Service, Repair, Maintenance, Parts & Accessories for Sportbikes, Streetbikes, Off-Road bikes, ATV's.

What do you ride?
I have a 2006 Suzuki GSXR1000, and a 1992 Honda NSR250SE. 
(For those of you who don't know, the NSR250 is a liquid-cooled, 90°V-twin cylinder, reed-valve two stroke.)

Any modifications on your GSXR?
Yoshimura Exhaust System, Ohlins Shock, Ohlins Steering Damper, Gilles Rear Set, Power Commander III USB Fuel Injection Re-Map, HID Headlights, CRG Control Levers.

How long have you been riding?
29 years

Where were you born?
Bangkok, Thailand

Where do you live?
Los Angeles, CA

What's your favorite place to ride?
Trail riding the mountains.

What is your best riding story?
In 1990, I did the 24 Hours Endurance Race at Willow Springs International Raceway.
